The Toolbox menu of the console groups two tools that work across the rest of the platform rather than as resources of their own: syncs, to coordinate concurrent work, and claims, to share devices with other accounts through a project.
| Tool | What it does | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Syncs | Shared semaphores with a number of slots and a default timeout. A device or an API client takes slots with a lock before a task and releases them when it ends. | Many devices or clients compete for something that only a few of them should use at the same time, such as a firmware download or a shared pump. |
| Claims | A link, QR code or claim code that another account redeems to get some of your devices, and other resources, in a project shared with it. | You ship devices to customers and each one must reach the account of whoever installs it. |
Both entries are in Toolbox in the main menu of the console. The menu appears to users allowed to list syncs, and each entry to users allowed to list its resources: inside a project, members see them only if their role grants those permissions.
